Digging Our Dirt
We have begun the last part of our Science Expedition. This case study is about Earth's natural resources. We have chosen soil as the natural resource that we want to study in depth. We began by gathering samples of soil (thank you to all who sent in a sample) from our homes and around our school. Next we just looked at the wide variety of dirt and all of the colors dirt could be. After that we analyzed the texture of the dirt - some is very crunchy and hard and some is soft and smooth. Yesterday we did an experiment with water and dirt. We poured water through a few samples of our dirt to see what would happen. Ask your child all about it. Now we will begin to learn some of the things dirt does for us in our world. Stay tuned for further updates.

Dirt can be many different colors.

Reading ~ Read a good book or two.
Math ~ Practice basic addition and subtraction facts

We have library tomorrow. Please help your child remember his or her books. All books are due tomorrow. We will not be checking out new books for the remainder of the year. It's time to visit the public library!
