Addition Facts

As we work on learning our basic addition facts we are looking at patterns or strategies that can help us remember them. We spent lots of time learning all of the sums of ten and doubles. Now we can use these facts to help us with other facts like the "near doubles". For example, if you know that 6 + 6 = 12, then you can use that to help you figure out 6 + 7. You can see that it will be just one more so it will be 13. (Click to see a larger version of the charts we made.)

Reading ~ Read a good book or two.
