Math Explorations

Periodically in math we do some explorations around various topics. These explorations are not in-depth studies but rather a brief introduction to new topics. Students can choose to continue to explore any of the topics further at other times. Last week our topics were surface area, using a pan balance to compare the weight of objects and using strategies to count a large collection of items.

The video below will show you a more normal sound level in our classroom. It is much different from our Solo Math time.

Today's volunteer is Ms. Martha. Ms. Martha comes and helps us out during math on Thursdays. Sometimes she works with small groups, sometimes with individual students and sometimes she helps all of us out during our work time. We enjoy having her help us. She also comes in at random times to file books in the book room - which is very helpful to me. Thanks, Ms. Martha, for all of your help.
