Library

We had our second visit to the school library today. Our regular library time will be on Fridays at 3:00 pm. Please help your child remember to bring their books back to school by Friday mornings so that they can check out new books. We love visiting Ms. Diana and the library!

Library

Our IA last week was library. We learned how to check out our own books, how to find things in the library and we worked on a Reader's Theater piece about Pete the Cat and Brown Bear. This week students will go in small groups to the library to check out books. At first they will go on specific days with Ms. Wendy accompanying them - check your email a photo that shows the day of the week your child will visit the library. Later, when they have mastered library checkout, they will be able to go on their own whenever they need to exchange their books. Students can always return books early if they have finished with them.

Acting Out in the Library

Last Thursday in the library, Ms. Diana wanted to provide us with some background knowledge about the story of Robin Hood. The Page to Stage players will be coming to our school in a couple of weeks to perform a show about Robin Hood and she wanted the students to be a little more familiar with the basic story so that they would enjoy the show more. Below are some photos of Ms. Diana and Ms. Peg acting out some scenes from the story with some members of our crew.

Library
We will visit the school library every Thursday.  Today was our first visit complete with a story, a lesson and time to check out books. We were so excited to get some new books to read.  Be sure to ask your child what books he or she brought home today.

Math ~ Home Link 1.13 Number Stories - Your child may draw the picture on the Home Link instead of cutting out a picture. Your child does not have to write the story that they tell you but they can if they would like.

Library
We will visit the school library every Thursday. We visited the library last Thursday for a brief orientation. Today was a regular visit complete with a story, a lesson and time to check out books. We were so excited to get some new books to read.  Be sure to ask your child what books he or she brought home today. (Bummer. I couldn't use some of the pictures Ms. Dee took in the library today because the kids had name tags on with their first and last names. The two pictures below are the only ones where the name tags weren't visible.)

Thank you all so much for all of the volunteer work you have already done so far this year. I am so impressed with how things are going so far. A special thanks goes to Kerry for organizing all of this volunteer work. I just gave her a list of jobs that needed to be done and the piles of work disappeared from my room and completed jobs are returning each day. It is so nice to have all of that off of my plate. I am not sure who is doing what but I wanted you all to know how much I appreciate all of your efforts to make things run so smoothly for our crew. Thank you!
