Using a Quill Pen

Over Fall Break, Avery visited an old schoolhouse while on a trip to Florida. She brought back a quill pen for the crew to try. We tried it last week. We asked Mr. Bob, one of our great volunteers to help us each take a turn using the quill pen. We were all surprised at how well it worked. We were also surprised to learn that the Supreme Court still uses a quill pen for some signatures today. Thanks for bringing this quill pen back for us, Avery!

(Note: My camera battery was acting funky and I finally took it in this weekend and got a new battery. The battery died while we were doing this project so we don't have a picture of each child and their signature.)
