Art
In Art, the crew is creating colorful, foil dragons. This artwork ties in with our Families in China case study from our first Expedition. The projects are coming along very nicely as you can see in the pictures below. I love the wonderful artwork that the crew creates in Art.  Ms. Pam is amazing.

Great Series Books
We are continuing to look at great series books. Our crew spent the last couple of weeks reading books from the Cork and Fuzz series by Dori Chaconas and the Dragon series by Dav Pilkey. Ask your child what he or she thought of these series.

For the next couple of weeks, we will be reading books in the Andy Shane series by Jennifer Richard Jacobson and Abby Carter and the Young Cam Jansen series by David A. Adler and Susanna Natti. My goal is to expose the crew to many, many different types and series of books so that they will be able to find books that they enjoy when they visit the library.

More Voyage Photos
Ms. Heather sent in a couple of the photos she took on the Winter Voyage. I have added them to the end of our slideshow - right before the sleeping children. I am in these photos - proof that I was there. Thanks, Heather.

Book Donations
Ava donated some Magic Tree House books to our classroom library. These are always so popular with kids. Thanks, Ava.

Myles also donated some books to our classroom library this morning. These are sure to be hits, too. Thanks, Myles.

Winter Voyage
We all had a great time hiking, sledding and doing lots of team building activities on our Winter Voyage. Thanks so much to all of the chaperones who helped out today. Pictures are in the slideshow below. (If you get this post by email, you will need to go directly to the blog to view the slideshow.)

Homework
Rest up and be ready for a great day at school tomorrow.

Schedule Changes
Due to the TCAP (formerly CSAP) testing in the upper grades, we will have a different schedule this week. We will go to our IA class immediately after our morning meeting. If you volunteer in our classroom during centers, that time is different this week and might not fit your schedule. We will start centers around 10:15 each day. Our afternoon schedule is very close to the same times so if you help out in math our writing, those times will remain the same. Thanks.
