We started a Geometry unit in math. We will be doing many
activities with 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional shapes. Last week, we
learned a new shape game. Two people play the game. Both players choose
the same 3 or 4 shapes from a pile of shapes. Then they put up a file folder
"wall" between them. One player creates a design using those shapes
and gives directions to the other player to build the same design. The catch is that they can't see
what the other is building. It turns out that it is rather challenging
to use accurate and descriptive math language in order to get your
partner to recreate your design. Below are some photos of us playing this game.
