Summer Reading July 30, 2012

There was another Lunch Lady fan out there. Lulu likes them, too. She also likes the Mal and Chad series.

Anyone else have a favorite new book or series? We would love to hear from you, too.

Summer Reading July 29, 2012

Will enjoys the Lunch Lady series on a pleasant Sunday afternoon. He liked the first book of the series so much that he read it in one night and went back to the library the next day to get another book in the series.

Will shows us a great picture of the swamp monster in his Lunch Lady book.

What about you? Have you read any of the books in the Lunch Lady series? Maybe you should give one a try.

Summer Reading July 17, 2012

Doran enjoys a book about dinosaurs (yep, just what we all would have guessed) on the hammock at his cabin. Doesn't he look comfy?

How about you? Have you found a comfy spot to read this summer? Have you found any great books we should all know about?

Another Summer Reader

Ms. Deborah takes a break from fly-fishing to relax and read. What a great spot to read - such a nice view!

Are you having fun and doing some reading like Ms. Deborah? We would love to see your picture here next.

Pete the Cat Event

The Pete the Cat event was this morning at the park by the Highlands Ranch library. It was lots of fun. There were tents with face-painting, crafts (4 stations), refreshments, free goodies and Pete the Cat books for sale. The highlight of the morning was the show put on by Eric Litwin. He sang songs and told 2 Pete the Cat stories. He was very entertaining. After his show you could have him sign your Pete the Cat books. He was very friendly.  A good time was had by all -- in spite of the heat. Pictures are below - thanks to my daughter for taking most of them.

Lulu got her face painted like a cat.

Will got a cool new hat at the grab a prize booth.

Ms. Mary Beth and some students from her crew were there, too.

Dillen was ready for the show.

Zak and his brother made Pete the Cat puppets with 4 groovy buttons.

Meeting up with friends.

Getting ready for the show to start.

Great Pete the Cat hats!

Eric Litwin was a big hit.
