The 4 Cs of 21st Century Learning are Collaboration, Critical thinking, Communication and Creativity. We try to incorporate those as much as we can. Our recent Dot Day celebration was a great example of using our creativity. Another regular activity that we do to encourage creativity is to play, "What is This?" We play this during our morning meeting activity time. To play we find an object (it could be a common, everyday object or something we have never seen before) and pass it around the circle and try to come up with as many possible uses for the item as we can. At first this game felt very challenging. We used a marker cap as our object and it took a while to get our brains thinking about how it could be used in other ways - rather than just as a marker cap. Once we got started though, the ideas just flowed. Ask your child about this game and the object we used today.
Also, today was "Talk Like a Pirate Day" so Ms. Noreene came and read a pirate book and poem to us. Do we get to celebrate all the cool holidays or what? We will do anything to get to read a good book!
